The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been available in Swiss stores for some time now, but until now there were no spare parts for it. Since today we can offer you Galaxy S4 repairs as usual.
Look
The Galaxy S4 could be a twin brother of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Sure, some details are different, edges rounded differently, plastic parts in a different design, etc. Nevertheless, it has exactly the same look as the Galaxy S3. So, newcomers will immediately find their way around and will probably not even have the feeling of holding a different phone in their hands. The front is now dominated by a 5-inch display. The physical home button is placed at the bottom, just like on the predecessor, and still looks the same. Despite the new larger display and more powerful battery, the new Galaxy S4 has become lighter and thinner. It weighs 130 grams and is 7.9mm thick. The outer dimensions are the same as the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S4 is currently available in two different colors: black mist and white frost. Where the name choice is not necessarily happy in my opinion. Later, more colors will appear.
Display
The display of the Galaxy S4 is simply great. It can compete with all current smartphones and clearly has the edge here. It has, as already mentioned, a 5" AMOLED display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). This results in a pixel density of an incredible 441ppi. The colors are displayed very vividly. Single drawback I find here the automatic brightness control which in my opinion does not really work well. However, turning this off means a massively higher power consumption.
Camera
The Galaxy S4's 13-megapixel camera and its software are just great. Samsung has applied a lot of the Samsung Camera here which is quite well received. There are many preset modes available as well as Drama Shot, Picture with Sound, Animated GIFs, HDR, Continuous Shoot, Portrait Optimization etc. It's all a lot of fun. However, the Galaxy S4 does not do so well when taking pictures in low-light conditions. Here, the cameras from HTC One and the Lumia range are much better.
Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 comes with a Snapdragon 600 from Qualcomm as its processor. This clocks with 1.9 GHz. In addition, there is 2 GB of internal RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. This is expandable with a microSD slot by 64 GB. 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 2 megapixel camera on the front. These two cameras can also be used simultaneously. The battery offers 2600 mAh of power. The S4 also has Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, WiFi, GPS and of course also radios in the new LTE networks on a total of five frequencies with up to 100 Mbit in the download: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1,800 MHz, 2,100 MHz and 2,600 MHz.
Software
The Galaxy S4 comes with many new features. Whether useful or not is up to everyone. Nevertheless, I'll go into a few things here. Many of the new features are now located in the TouchWiz control center and can be quickly turned on or off. Many of these functions will certainly confuse some users, since they are partly not self-explanatory. Smart Stay, Smart Scroll, S Beam, Air View, Multi Window and an extra section for gestures are the newest features, which also include a lot of sensors. Smart Pause, for example, stops videos when you take your eyes off the phone. This sometimes works but is more annoying than useful. Smart Scroll is also one of them. The automatic scrolling of the content is irritating and does not work as Samsung had intended. In addition, this function is only available in some applications. I think here everyone must make themselves a picture since this is quite person-specific.
